CTET Syllabus 2019

The CTET (Central Teaching Eligibility Test) is a national level entrance test which is organized for the selection of skilled teachers for primary level and upper primary level. In this article we are discussing the syllabus of CTET. 

CTET Syllabus 2019 has been decided by the CBSE. In the previous 5 years syllabus of CTET is not changed.

 

Paper 1

Paper 1 is the primary stage and Paper I is organized to teach the candidates from class I to 5. Paper 1 is consist of 5 sections. 

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language 1
  • Language 2
  • Math Environmental Studies 

 

Paper 2

paper 2 is the initial stage and this paper is organized for candidates desiring to teach class 6 to 8. Paper 2 is consist of 4 subjects. 

 

  • Child Development and Pedagogy,
  • Language 1,
  • Language 2,
  • Mathematics and Science or Social Studies

 

Syllabus of paper 1

Paper 1 is for candidates desiring to teach classes 1 to 5. Then the level of questioning in Paper 1 is related to classes 1 to 5. 

 

Child Development and Pedagogy

30 questions in the examination related to child development and Pedagogy. 

  • Development of a Primary School Child
  • Concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with special needs
  • Learning and Pedagogy

 

15 questions come from the topic of development of a primary school child.

And 5 questions come from the concept of inclusive education and understanding of children with special needs and 10 questions about education and pedagogy.

 

Language 1 and Language 2

30 questions in the examination related to language. 

  • Language Comprehension
  • Pedagogy of Language Development

Mathematics

30 questions in the examination related to mathematics. 

  • Content (numbers, solving simple equations, algebra, geometry patterns, time, measurement, data handling, solids, data handling, etc.
  • Pedagogical issues

Environmental Studies

30 questions in the examination related to environmental studies. 

  • Content (environment, food, shelter, water, family and friends, etc.)
  • Pedagogical Issues

 

CTET Syllabus Paper 2

 Paper II is organized for candidates desiring to teach class 5 to 8. Then the level of exam is related to class 5 to 8. 

 

Child Development and Pedagogy

  • Development of an Elementary School Child
  • Concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with special needse
  • Learning and Pedagogy

 

Language 1 and Language 2

  • Language Comprehension
  • Pedagogy of Language Development

Mathematics and Science

  • Mathematics Number system, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Data Handling Pedagogical issues
  • Pedagogical issues
  • Science Food, Materials, The world of the living, Moving things, people and ideas, How things work, Natural phenomena and resources
  • Pedagogical issues

 

Social Studies 

  • History
  • Geography
  • Social
  • Political Life
  • Pedagogical issues
