Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)/ Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) for Tier-IV (Wherever applicable)
Once you clear Tier-I and Tier-II exam successfully, depending on the posts you are apply for, you have to clear Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) and Data Entry Skill Test (DEST).
This test is only qualifying in nature. In case you fail, you are still be considered for others post where this test is not necessary.
Don’t worry about Desktop, Laptop or keyword where you have to give this test, Staff selection commission will arrange computer during the examination at its allotted centre. The desktop and keyboard provided at centre of examination is of best quality.
This test will check your ability to type given paragraph with given speed and accuracy, it will also check your basic knowledge of excel and basic formulas used in excel.
Computer Proficiency Test (CPT):-
This test includes word-processing, Excel sheet preparation and power point presentation.
In Word-processing section a printed passage will be provided to you and you have to type that passage in computer with the help of keyboard. You have to type 2000 character or key depressions in 15 minutes. You just have to simply type and no formatting like bold, underline, italic, etc is to be used. Your accuracy level must be greater than 95%.
In Excel sheet preparation section a printed sheet is provided to you, you have to create the same sheet in Microsoft Excel in 15minutes.to complete this section you must have basic knowledge of formulas used in excel, you can use formula for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentage, etc.
In Power point presentation section a printed sheet having a single slide is given and you have to create same slide on Microsoft power point in 15 minutes. To complete this section you must be aware of basic function like insertion of header, footer, date and time, table, etc.
Data Entry Skill Test (DEST):- In this section you have to type 2000 key depressions in 15 minutes on the computer given by staff selection commission at their centre.

After successful completion of Tier-I, Tier-II, Tier-III and CPT/DEST and Document Verification, Commission will arrange an All India Merit List for each category of post. The ultimate merit will be equipped on the basis of marks secured in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III and the preference exercised by the candidates.
Document verification is necessary for every candidate, who qualified the exam, any candidates failing to do so will not be considered for final selection. Here you will be given one more chance to revise your options for preference of post.
