1.   Roger Federer claimed the 100th ATP title by winning the Dubai Tennis Championships on March 2 for the eighth time. The 20-time grand slam champion is the second man, after American Jimmy Connors to claim 100 titles. after beating 20-year-old Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 6-4 in the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

2. Central Industrial Security Force created a new Guinness World Record for the longest single moving line bicycle parade at the Yamuna Expressway. The 1,327 bicycles parade covered 3.2 km distance non-stop with a uniform distance between bicycles in a single line.

3. One of the most advanced rifles in world AK-203 will be made in Amethi. It will be made by a joint-venture of India and Russia. 

4. Russian scientist Zhores Alferov, who won the 2000 Nobel prize in physics, has died at the age of 88 in St Petersburg.

5. Former finance secretary Ajay Narayan Jha joined the 15th Finance Commission as a member, pursuant to the resignation of Shaktikanta Das. He was retired as a Finance Secretary to the central government.

6. Union Minister of Textiles, Smriti Zubin Irani on Feb 28 launched a comprehensive scheme for the development of knitting and knitwear sector under PowerTex India. The main event was organized at India Habitat Center New Delhi connecting three different locations Ludhiana in Punjab, Tirupur in Tamil Nadu, and Kolkatta in West Bengal 

7. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the ‘Pradhan Mantri JI-VAN Yojana’ for providing financial support to the Integrated Bioethanol Projects.Its full form is Pradhan Mantri Jaiv Indhan- Vatavaran Anukool fasal awashesh Nivaran  Yojana. The scheme aims to incentivise 2G Ethanol sector and support this nascent industry by creating a suitable ecosystem for setting up commercial projects and increasing Research & Development in this area.

8. Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) on Thursday concluded a three-day ‘Mainamati Maitree Exercise 2019’ as a part of ‘Confidence Building Measures’ between the two border guards.

 9. The Board of Directors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) on Friday approved a $455-million loan for a road project in rural areas of Andhra Pradesh, the bank said in a statement.

10. IFFCO Tokio General Insurance Company announced the launch of Bank Locker Protector Policy, which is the first policy in the industry to protect the contents of a bank locker such as jewellery and other valuables.

11. Rice Knowledge Bank - Assam’, an agriculture web portal dedicated to enhancing knowledge on rice production techniques and technologies, best production practices and state agriculture facts, was launched as part of the World Bank funded project- Assam Agri-business and Rural Transformation (APART).

12. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday announced the "Mukhyamantri Parivar Samman Nidhi" scheme for farmers of the state cultivating up to five acres of land and families having income less than Rs 15,000 per month. The scheme involves two categories of beneficiaries-in the age group of 18 to 40 years and the in the age group of 40 to 60 years. The scheme provides insurance facilities of- Rs. 2 lakh on natural death, Rs. 2 lakh for accidental death, Rs. 2 lakh for permanent disability and Rs. 1 lakh for partial disability.

13. Karnataka, is set to launch a major water conservation scheme titled ‘Jalamrutha’, which focusses on drought-proofing measures, including protection and rejuvenation of waterbodies. Jalamrutha is a community-driven movement for water conservation in the state, initiated by Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.

14. Bharti AXA General Insurance has been conferred with the ‘Non-Life Insurer of The Year Award 2019 by the Assocham, one of the apex trade associations of India.
